HIRE TERMS
Rental period
The minimum rental period is one (1) day (24 hour) with a grace period of 1 hour to return the vehicle.
Further delay is charged as an extra day.
Driver’s age and driving license.
The minimum age is 23 years & the maximum is 70 years.
Driving license should be issued 1 year prior to the date of hire.
In case the driver is not a resident of the European Union, he/she is required to carry an international driver’s license to legally drive in Greece.
Additional Driver
In a vehicle rental, only the declared driver is covered by the following insurances.
If other drivers are to drive the hired vehicle, they must be declared in the rental contract at the start of the rental period. Required documents are an identity card or passport and a valid driving license. The additional driver service is charged per day. The maximum number of drivers is set at 3 persons.
Delivery and collection
Vehicle delivery / collection at the premises of SINIS S.A. and at the Thessaloniki Airport are free of charge. Delivery and collection outside the above stations are made upon the customer’s request.
The charge for delivery and collection within the city is 20 €, while for delivery and collection outside the city the cost is 30 € plus 1.5 € per km.
Delivery / Collection of vehicles exceeding operating hours (from 21:01 to 08:59) has an extra charge of 20 €.
Payment methods
The rental fee can be paid by credit, debit, or prepaid card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Diners), cash and bank deposit no later than the vehicle delivery.
A deposit equal to 15% of the total rental cost is required to complete a booking.
Cancellation of a reservation
In case of cancellation up to 7 days before the rental start date, the full amount of the deposit will be refunded. For cancellations within the 7 days before the rental start date, the entire deposit will be charged.
Mileage Compensation
For rental period longer than three (3) days, free mileage will be provided. For rental period of less than three (3) days, rates include 150 km per day. Otherwise, the renter will be charged 0.15€ /km plus VAT for each additional km over 150 km/day.
Fuel policy
The vehicle must be returned with the same amount of fuel as delivered. Otherwise, the renter will be charged the cost of the fuel difference as well as the re fueling costs of 12 €. No refunds or offsets will be made for extra fuel in the tank.
Limitations
It is forbidden to transport and drive the vehicle outside the borders of the Greek territory. Exceptionally, and only with the written permission of the company and with the payment of the amount to be determined by the company, the driving of the car outside the borders is allowed. Driving off road is prohibited. Carrying heavy objects and general misuse is not allowed.
Charges of up to 98 € for special cleaning apply to vehicles returned with a dirty interior (e.g., food stains, coffee stains, etc.) indicating misuse.
Transport by Ferry boat
Only with prior written approval of SINIS SA. No insurance will cover any damage caused to the hired vehicle during its transportation.
Insurance policy & Liability amounts
All our cars are insured with third party insurance coverage (Death and injury of third party up to 1.300.000 € , Material damage from uninsured vehicle up to 100.000 € , Legal protection and Roadside assistance. ).
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):
Limits the renter’s responsibility for vehicle damage from 650 € to 1.250 € depending on the car group.
The amounts of the renter’s responsibility depending on the category of the vehicle are as follows:
Category B : 650 €
Category C / XC : 950 €
Category XG/XM/MB/C PREMIUM/Electric: 1.250 €
Damages on the bottom part of the vehicle, wheels, hubcaps, tires, mirrors, antenna, crystals, and interior are not covered.
Full Damage Waiver (FDW):
This insurance is optional with extra cost per day.
With the additional insurance cover, the amounts of the renter’s responsibility are as follows:
Category B : 0 €
Category C / XC : 320 €
Category XG/XM/MB/C PREMIUM / Electric : 450 €
Damage on the bottom part of the vehicle, wheels, hubcaps, tires, mirrors are not covered.
Full accident insurance is charged per day,10 €.
No insurance cover is valid:
• when transporting the vehicle by ferry
• if the driver is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• damage caused by driving on unpaved roads.
• for loss of personal belongings.
• for accidents caused by a driver not declared in the rental contract
• loss or damage of the vehicle key.
• loss or damage of any additional equipment such as child seat, snow chains e.t.c.
In the event of an accident, the client is obliged to complete the accident declaration, regardless of fault.
Deposit
A credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express) is required to rent a vehicle, even if the payment is made in cash. SINIS S.A. will pledge the amount of discharge to the damage until the end of the rental period.
In case the customer does not have a credit card, he/she can rent a vehicle by paying in cash the amount of the vehicle deposit.
In case the customer has zero participation in the compensation of the damages of the vehicle, the amount to be reserved is 100 €.
The reimbursement of the amount in question may take up to 14 days after the end of the rental depending on the partner bank of the card used.
Administrative costs
In the event of an accident, the customer will be charged the cost of inspection and damage control, which is agreed at 50 €.
Fines and infringements
The customer assumes full responsibility for traffic violations and administrative penalties assessed on the vehicle and/or the driver during the rental period.
In case that the customer does not pay the fine, SINIS will charge the fine cost-plus administrative expenses.
Rental Agreement
During delivery of the vehicle a rental agreement is signed and contains the above terms and conditions.
